On 19 and 26 March I have been present at this introduction. The school organizes a sale for geraniums again and a part of the proceeds will benefit to our work in Sri Lanka.
Jan, our chairman, and his son Nuwan (former student of this school) have given information to almost 500 pupils from groups 4 until 8 about Sri Lanka and the foundation "Van Hand tot Hand". They did this in 5 sessions from 1 our each.
They have told an enthousiastic story with the help of a Powerpoint presentation and several typical Sinhalese objects.

The pupils were very interested and motivated. Especially Nuwan made a lot of impression because he is a Sinhalese boy.
The younger pupils react very impulsive and spontanious. The young people from the older groups were shocked by the living conditions of the children and the conditions of the schools in Sri Lanka. They were very surprised when Jan gave some examples of what you can do over there with a little bit of money.

My opinion is that the presentation has given them a big impression which hopefully will help to make the action to a bigger success.
