In the fall of 2007 Sister Kanthi came to us with a request for help. We know the nurse for several years. She was mother superior of the girl's home in Bolowalana and now takes care of a "welcome home" for abused young women. One of her pupils is a young mother, has two children and a husband and lives in Munakara. There they live in a very poor fishing community that is located on the outskirts of Negombo. The family lives in a hut made of palm leaves. They do not have sufficient income to provide for a good housing situation.
Shehan went there with sister Kanthi to have a look. The residents there feel that the family must be helped. Together we decided to build a house for this familya in a similar way of the surrounding houses. The father of the family has worked very hard to build the house. In the spring of 2008, the house was put into use after an opening ceremony attended by the sponsor from the Netherlands.
