Fatima Boys' Home and the foundation are inextricably linked. For years, we work with the sisters at the Boys' Home in Welihena. This year, Sister Anita is in charge of Fatima Boys' Home. Immediately after she was placed in charge, she contacted us to request building a multipurpose space. With great pleasure we take this opportunity to improve the living conditions of the boys. During our visit to the Fatima Boys' Home in July 2007 she spoke about the desire to rebuild the old part of the building into a new home.

In an email from the Mother Superior, you can read the motivation for the conversion.

"Renovation of Study Hall in Fatima Boys’ Home.
I am extremely happy about your conscious efforts and concrete actions to mitigate poverty from our country. Your concern and regular generous contribution for the well being of the children in our Home for destitute boys are a great assistance to us, to further our mission. Thank you for your willingness to find funds to modify and renovate our study hall. It is a great need in deed. At present we undergo a lot of inconveniences. The visit of members of your Foundation brought us much happiness with hope. I was requested to hand over documents to Mr. Shehan Thisera who co-ordinates for you in Sri Lanka, at his advice I am submitting them directly by post to you. The hall is named as multi purpose hall, because we intend using it for other activities such as learning music, singing, cultural dancing, and indoor games like carom. We also will use it for meetings and sessions for the guardians and parents of our children.  I wish and pray that your coffer will never dry, but ever be full to its brim, so that everyone will be satisfied.

Wishing you success in all your endeavours and thanking you for what you are to us, especially to our little children! May God bless you..

Yours sincerely, Sister Mary Anita"
