Kalphany is a woman who is taking care of her family all by herself. After her husband left for Italy last September to find work there, Kalphany was forced to live with her grandfather and grandmother. Her husband doesn't allow her to leave the house. Our volunteers Peter and Netty Dobbelsteen have stayed in contact with this family for many years now. They have spoken with Kalphany about her situation.
Because she used to work in a factory that produces children's clothing, it seemed like a good idea to do this at home, in her own living room. Therefore Peter and Netty bought a sewing machine last March which was delivered by Shehan.
