2008.09 - Sewing machine for Odilya and her daughter in Negombo Print E-mail

Thursday, 03 July 2008 17:28

Odilya lives on the beach of Negombo. Her house was destroyed during the tsunami. In June 2005 Peter and Netty Dobbelsteen arranged the building of a a new wooden house.  Mother and daughter neither have an income. These two women are special: in spite of their poverty they still find a way to take care for stray animals. Every visit Peter and Netty made to the family, they requested a sewing machine so they could earn some money. We are happy that we were able to lend them a sewing machine, thanks to a sponsor.
