We’ve been developing our glasses project. In 2009 we came in contact with a doctor from the most known eye clinic in Sri Lanka. Our local contact, Shehan Tissera lives nearby. During our visit in August we’ve met the doctor. They receive around 500 patients per day and have to work with very old equipment, which is reliable though. When we offered to help you could see that they were seized with emotion. Because of an optician from Fashion Eyes in Hilvarenbeek a diopter measuring device was made available. He contacted us through Enny Smit from Eye Clarify The diopter measuring device was delivered in autumn of 2009 by volunteers. It was made ready and registerd by a government agency and then was allowed to be used in the hospital. They are very happy with it. Photos:
