2009.21 – The finishing touch to a house in Horana Print E-mail

In Horana we have visited a poor family for some years now. Father, mother, grandfather, a handicapped uncle , two daughters and a grandchild live in a half built little house. We decided to help this family step by step, every year a bit.

First the electricity and windows with glass in them instead of plastic bags. Then the smearing of the rough concrete walls, the painting of the woodwork and the constructing of a well. And finally a ceiling, tiles on the floor and in the kitchen, and a decent toilet outside the house.

The family is very happy and grateful. Even the neighbours show their gratitude as they are happy too that this family got help. It was badly needed.

At the pictures: The kitchen as it used to be. The walls finished and a ceiling to prevent the dust from outside to come in.
